This New Moon, Decide Between old Patterns or new Paths
“If one man can destroy everything, why can’t one woman change it?”
Dear Reader,
This dark fortnight, the moon has been waning from Pisces, where you have been sifting through the hidden realms of your subconscious mind and noticing the patterns that have been inherently keeping you in the loop of what your life has been up to this moment.
The recent Full Moon in Pisces revealed to us just how vast and open the waters for us to dive into are, leaving with us a sense of something beyond the human experience, and perhaps beyond the way in which we have been living our lives so far.
We have started by cleaning up our internal worlds, shedding, honoring, and feeling gratitude for the people and experiences that have imparted us with lessons throughout our lives. Now, we are invited to move from these transcendental waters to the earthly, material plane, with all its limitations.
On October 10th, we have a New Moon in sidereal Virgo in the nakshatra of Hasta.
“This New Moon is a potent reminder that you already hold the power to create and shape your reality.”
Hasta nakshatra’s symbol is open hands, or ‘golden hands.’ This correlates perfectly with where it sits in the heart of Virgo, the natural sixth house, which governs our work, health, routines, and service to others.
During this upcoming fortnight, we can use the energies of the Virgo maiden and her golden hands to find the courage to set out on a new path—perhaps clean your house and space, take a look at your health and routines, discard what is no longer working or serving you.
This period of the year is very significant, with many planets around this New Moon moving in retrograde. Saturn, opposite this Sun-Moon conjunction, is holding a tight, rigid grip, whereas the New Moon itself is releasing that grip in favor of yielding to the possibility of embracing new, different approaches rather than repeating old patterns. Venus, which is also retrograde, in the second house from this moon, is a driving force towards reassessing values, material security, and relationships.
Hasta can have many gifts and is skilled at adapting, manipulating, and manifesting within the material world. So, this may be an opportune time to reflect on the ethics underlying your reasoning and actions when manifesting for your life. Great gifts, like golden hands, can be either curses or blessings. How you use them is up to you.
The solar deity of creation, Savitar, is associated with Hasta and represents the power “to manifest what one may seek and place it in their hands.” This New Moon is a potent reminder that you already hold the power to create and shape your reality. The golden hands are not just symbols of skill and adaptability, but also of genuine creative force.
So, use this fortnight wisely, and place in your own hands only what truly serves your highest good.
